What is wrong with Christianity?

Absolutely nothing. Nothing is wrong with Christianity or the gospel of Jesus Christ.
So many stories in the news about "pastors" doing stuffs that should not even be mentioned once about anyone who claims such an office. But nobody is perfect right? we are all growing in the faith. A major reason as a matter of personal rule, I do not sit to laugh at any pastor who is in messy waters, I discuss it with God and two very close persons and even at that, I don't go all out, I act like I do not know much even if I did. Ok, I must confess, sometimes I do get excited, not because am happy about the mess but rather because a lie has been exposed, a pastor occupies such a position that if abused could lead many to miss it...but, I am also not quick to condemn those who drag him. The way I understand it is this: people talk bad or drag a pastor either unjustly because he is being targeted or because he has lost his saltiness. If he is unjustly being targeted, God, his boss will justify him and reward him for it, But if he has lost his savour, then he must be trodden under foot of men. And guess who said this? The Master Himself, and this applies to all Christians. When a Christian loses his taste, when he no longer projects light, he will be mocked. It is written!!!
Nothing is wrong with Christianity, but something could be wrong with a Christian, because there are different levels of growth or retrogression( what the bible refers to as backslidden). There is the one who could be stagnant, being neither hot or cold, the type that translates the gospel to suit his/her present state of spiritual level. He makes light of sin and makes grace seem like an accomplice to sin, like there are different standards for different people. He does whatever he likes, waves God a high five with grace …after all He has promised to forgive when we repent of our sins. Big brother Paul asked: should we continue in sin that grace may abound? a question to which he answered: God forbid! This stagnant believer does not have an encounter with God, has not spent enough time or shown Him enough love to have an encounter...oh but he believes in Him anyways so... Or he has had encounters with the Lord but it no longer means much to him...the see finish syndrome or over familiarity syndrome, pride makes him forget he is nothing and God is the Almighty.
The retrogressing Christian, well, there is the stage where he still goes to church because he is used to going to church, he enjoys the social relationship church provides, has relationship with the people and the pastors, but he is distant from God. Then there is the stage where he hardly goes to church, but does it occasionally to keep up appearance, being seen in church makes him look good; but he doesn't like to hear much about Christian talks, he pings and spends quality time on social media while in church; cant wait for the service to end. A video went viral sometime ago of a man...middle aged, who was videoed watching porn from his mobile phone while in church. So this category of Christian goes to church, but he is not in church. Then, there is the final stage of retrogression, where he no longer goes to church. He hates everything church and no longer gives a damn who thinks badly of him because of that. He may or may not return.
There is the holier than thou type of Christian who thinks that God is not strict enough, matter of fact, if he could; he would have given God a lesson or two about holiness. This type believes that a lady should not look "fine" so a brother is not tempted and a brother should not look " sharp" so a sister does not get wet when she looks at him...if you think am kidding, then you must be a novice. Sad thing about this group of people is that, most often than not, they are rash, unfriendly, mean and unchristian in nature...ironical right? yea, sometimes they act like they think they are the only ones Jesus should love while every other person should be sent to hell, they do not feel good when someone who had " enjoyed the world" becomes born again, because after all they have done, and enjoyed in the world; they should not come and share heaven with "holy" people like them who have not " enjoyed the world"
Christianity remains constant when focused on the person of Jesus Christ, its founder. He remains the same all through. Maintained the standards of His Father God Almighty. He also instructs His followers to do same...making that the condition under which they remain His, as stated in John 8:29-31.
He forgives in honour of his word, but He knows where he places those who hurt him repeatedly and abuse his love and grace. There is a reason why He called Abraham His friend and David a man after His heart. There is a reason why he punished David.
If you want to talk Christianity or know about it, look at the teachings of The Christ Himself. If you are looking for a Christian church to attend, ask God to guide you, test the spirit as there are charlatans and cultists, compare the teachings of the pastor with the Bible, meaning you need to read it yourself dedicatedly...that's if you are serious about it of course. Finally, do not hesitate to leave any church where you no longer feel persuaded is feeding your spirit, sometimes a genuine and true pastor may be going through his process of retrogression. Make it a life assignment to pray for your pastor, he needs it. Never rubbish a real and genuine pastor even if he guffs, you owe him love. This Kingdom is built and sustained by love and if you do not have it, you are even worse than who you mock.

It's sad how people judge others for the same thing they do on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteNothing is wrong with Christianity just wickedness is on a high in the human realm.
We as humans, God also has given us the spirit discernment which includes being with the right congregation, and we will all be judged by own works.
ReplyDeleteWe were all called by God in our own standard to first lead our own immediate families to christ. The concepts of Church has transcended to just fancy buildings, show-offs, and worldly powers.
Those who are in the habit of judging others knows nothing or near to nothing about Christ and His teachings.
